My quote is on progress report 14 and starts in page 188

Burt is saying:

I have added time sequence of increasing complexión to the three-dimensional maze, and Algernon learns them easily. There is no need to motivate him with food or water. He appears to learn for the sake of solving the problem.

This is saying that Algernon just wants to arribe to the end of the maze, not just for the price that is at the end of the maze.

What they do is they let something at the end of the maze so he goes foro it, but that is wrong, is as at the begining of the novel when Charlie, volunteared so they could try the experiment on him. The thing is that he did not do it for money or other type of way of paying him for letting them for trying the experiment on him, he lets them just foro the prive of being smart.

As i say is the same as the maze scene that algernon wants to do the maze so he could figure it out, and Charlie foro being smart and not foro chees or money.

Other quote i found is at page 189

Burt is talking and says:

His behaviour is errastic. Something after or even during the run, he will rage, throw himself against the wall of the maze, or curl up and refuse to work at all.

This means that they must be going to fast, with Algernon, they aré exploting him, he might want to rest, as when they are with Charlie, still with the experiment.

He couldn't be there the whole day studing and studing, because also they did not think he was before a mentaly retarded or that is a animal as Algernon, they just wanted to finish the fastest they could, but they excede with Algernon, and at the end he died,maybe because he became a normal rat again or maybe of excede.

Other quote is in page 189

Charlie is talking and says:

That crazy fay came in through the fire escape this afternoon with a female white mouse. to make him company, she said, on this lonely summer nights.

And at the end it says: i am Glad that algernon is no longer alone.

What Charlie is trying to say is he is glad that fay came and let a female rat stay with algernon, and also as i said that charlien was glad that he was not alone any more, is sord of when Charlie was alone and meats fay, they ave relations, and she makes him feel better, and Charlie wants algernon to feel the experience of Being love.

My conclusion is that people cant go faster as the want when we aré talking on someones life, let them take a breacke and let them live.
